Great

I love the quickness this came in and the fact the movie looked so good. Thanks

AWESOME!

I've been waiting for Monster Squad to finally come to DVD! Around the same time as Goonies, but never became as popular. (actually, the same actress played 'Mom' in both) In our house they were equals. Came out in perfect timing for Halloween. Highly recommended for anyone looking back to those movies that inspired our imagination as kids.

A true classic!

During the 80's your typical horror movies were usually slasher films that were about either Freddy Kruger, Jason Vorhees, or Michael Myers, then along comes a little movie called "The Monser Squad" which chages all that. The film has all of the classic Universal monsters such as Count Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon, all together for one heck of a "monster mash" (this is also the first time all these monsters where in the same movie alltogether!). The film is about a group of kids (in a small town) who are obsessed about monsters, and one of them recives a diary that belonged to Abraham Van Helsing (for those of you who don't know he's Dracula's arch enemy) that tells of an amulet that once every hundred years creates a portal to limbo, and if the monsters get ahold of the amulet the world will be plunged into darkness. This is a fun movie to watch for any horror movie buff, and it even puts some of the old legends to the test, like when Dracula corners the kids one of them pulls out a pice of pizza and burns his face (garlic!), another is when the Wolf Man gets blown up with a stick of dynamite he comes back together! (only silver can kill a werewolf!) But perhaps the most memorable scene in this movie is when Horace (aka Fat Kid) kicks Wolf Man in the groin he says "Wolfman's got nards!" which will leave anyone roaring whith laughfter! Alltogether this is a classic of horror cinema which is now starting to get the reconition it needs, and it proves that the classics never die.
