Rush Hour 2 retains the appeal of its popular predecessor, so it's easily recommended to fans of its returning stars, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. The action--and there's plenty of it--starts in Hong Kong, where Detective Lee (Chan) and his L.A. counterpart Detective Carter (Tucker) are attempting a vacation, only to get assigned to sleuth a counterfeiting scheme involving a triad kingpin (John Lone), his lethal henchwoman (Zhang Ziyi, from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), and an American billionaire (Alan King). Director Brett Ratner simply lets his stars strut their stuff, so it hardly matters that the plot is disposable, or that his direction is so bland he could've phoned it in from a Jacuzzi.

Chan with his karate comedy & Tucker with BS one liners,
all together it makes for a great comedy.
I would say this is a must have for anyone that likes a good comedy!!

Great sequel that probably surpasses the original!

Detective Carter (Chris Tucker) and Detective Lee (Jackie Chan) are in Hong Kong for a vacation until the American Embassy of Hong Kong explodes. Thus, Carter and Lee must investigate who is behind this bombing and it's one of China's most notorious mobsters led by Ricky Tan (John Lone) who want to make a counterfeiting scheme, they head back to America as Lee and Carter are persuing them from L.A. to Las Vegas to uncover their scheme.

A rare sequel that can be better and funnier then the first film, director Brett Ratner knows how to entertain his audience. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan make quite a comical action duo much like their performance in the first movie, the female assassin played by Zhang Ziyi is absolutely babe-o-licious. There's more action then the original movie such as the spectacular battle at the Las Vegas Casino and more witty humor that made the original such great entertainment and a box-office hit to boot.

This Infitfilm DVD has awesome extras like audio commentary, deleted scenes with optional commentary, outtakes, four featurettes, teasers and trailers, cast and crew bios, and Beyond The Movie features that you can watch during the movie by optional Triva subtitle track with direct access to these features.

If you love the first one then get this DVD.

Where is the 5.1 Dolby Surround ?

This review is on the newly remastered RH2. (The movie is 5 stars all the way.) The cover says that it has four audio track:

5.1 Dolby Surround EX
6.1 DTS
2.1 Stereo
2.1 Commentary

However, my dvd player and PC DVD drive both show that the disc has two 2.1 Stereo tracks, and no 5.1 Dolby Surround:

Is this some kind of defect? Does anyone else have it as well?
