| DVD Description Action-god Jackie Chan does his best James Bond impression with this ecstatic sequel to the classic Supercop. The bare-bones plot has Chan in pursuit of international terrorists, but the narrative quickly gives way to an unceasing barrage of insane stunt work (including a nitro-fueled ski chase and a grandiose fight scene set inside a functioning shark tank). As with most of the aging star's recent films, there is more of an emphasis placed on big, impersonal (albeit impressive) stunts rather than the close-up combat that made him famous; but the end result is still a must-see rush for longtime fans, and a great introduction for newcomers eager to see what all the well-deserved fuss is about. The scene where Jackie takes on multiple goons while armed only with a ladder is one of his most jaw-dropping set pieces ever--and that's saying quite a lot. Be sure to stick around for the closing credits of gags gone awry, which graphically prove that Chan is truly the hardest working man in show business. --Andrew Wright |

2 sdtars for the movie, 5 stars for under-water fu Now the movie itself is a little better than the rumble in the bronx or nice guy, but as a whole it kicks the sheeit out of those movies. The story isn't really worth going over, he goes on a mission. But the 2 things that stand out are the water fights and the ladder fight. Truly only jackie could come up with this stuff. And he is not even liste as the coordinator, but you knwo he had to have a hand in it. Overall this is only a 3 star movie at best, but with jackie literally jumping through this ladder and swinging it like he was trained his whole life with it. And there is another nice little movie within a movie at the end.
And I have to say that the american version of thisw si very good, the dubbing is better than usual, the 5.1 sound kicks ass, and if someone has a bette version of this, than post it on here.
ORIGINAL IS BETTER~!! If you want UNCUT ORIGINAL version, ALWAYS look for ORIGINAL LICENSED Production. NOT US Release. Its a foreign film, it should not be US version to begin with~! HELLO!!!?? Why settle for LESS with US Version where they edit and cut so many excellent scenes especially with Jackie's Fighting Scenes. And US Release ruins the speed and sound as well. I have been collecting Jackie Chan's movies both HK and US Release Version for quite some time now. I found HK Version to be MUCH MORE in enjoyable, and HIGHER in Quality. American Market always like to "Americanize" and "Control". Regional Code Regulation thing is one of the example to CONTROL the Market. Why not let everyone enjoy the same HK Original Release move the same way ENTIRE WORLD enjoys it ?? No one makes Hollywood American movies to "French version" or "Chinese Version" ~! This what Americans are doing~! Well, enjoy the cheap "American version" then~! LOL
SHARK FIGHT!SHARK FIGHT! Every time I watch Jackie Chan, I have to wonder: How does he do this stuff? He's just phenomenal. If you don't like Chan, that's fine, but if you aren't impressed by his amazing acrobatic grace and wild imagination, I feel sorry for you.
The plot is, of course, simple and just an excuse for Chan to do some amazing stunts. There's a lot to like here, including a ridiculous, yet absolutey stunning, fight in a shark tank. There's so much more, but I'd rather not spoil it.
Just see the film and expect a good time. |
